Guide to commercial stick blenders
An industrial stick blender has become a necessary tool in many restaurants, cafes, commercial kitchens and pizzerias. It saves you time and is easy to use in many contexts, whether it is a plate of food that is being blended, a large pot of pizza sauce or the soup of the day. There are many models on the market. We carry most of them and are happy to guide you along the way, so that you find the right product for your needs.
You should go for this in case of simple need.
The vast majority of our customers have a simple need and make the same recipes every single day. It could be mayonnaise for sandwiches, pizza sauce or tomato soup. When the need is not greater, it is basically just a matter of finding:
1. A model with a suitably long rod for the pots you use, for example. Here you can look at the length or look at the capacity in liters that the product is recommended for.
2. A model that fits well in your hand and doesn't weigh too much. It's hard to use a heavy stick blender for a long time, and if you're using a large model, it would be a good idea to buy a bracket for the pot that takes the strain off your wrist. The simple models often run at a high fixed speed and don't allow you to adjust the revolutions per minute.
3. It should be easy to clean. The easiest way to achieve this is to choose a model with a removable rod. Here, you can unscrew the rod and wash it with warm water.
4. The motor part must be relatively powerful (over 180 W) and not make too much noise. On the power side, it often turns out that the expensive models have the extra power because they utilize the power better. Therefore, you can't always compare the output, which is measured in watts, across manufacturers.
It must have a safety feature that requires both hands to start it (often a given today).
For a larger and more varied need (Dynamic)
If your needs are greater than the previous ones, you must also take the following into account:
1. If you use the stick blender often, it should have good ventilation. A model from Dynamic has a cooling/highly ventilated motor that keeps it from getting hot.
2. If you use it in a greasy environment, it should be highly insulated. A model from Dynamic is double insulated and can withstand being used in a heavy environment.
The need for additional equipment such as a whisk is often only possible on the expensive models. The cheap blenders do not always allow the blender to be attached to a whisk. In the mid-range you will often find a stick blender that either comes with a whisk or has the option to purchase one. It is practical because you can easily whip cream, pancake batter or the like.
4. If you need a blender stick, blender bowl, puree stick or similar. If you choose a product from the top shelf, you have the opportunity to purchase accessories that transform your stick blender into a multifunctional machine. If your needs are more demanding, we recommend the French Dynamic model. It weighs less than other brands in the same category. Especially their series with variable speed, removable stick and auto-run which is a black button you press, and then it keeps the speed constant. It is used all over the world, and is a solid high-quality product. You can choose to buy only the motor part and buy selected tools, or you can choose a complete package with several parts.
A masher that is ideal for mashing potatoes, steamed vegetables and the like in a gentle way that preserves the texture. It also works well for grating cheese.
The stick blender sucks up ingredients, crushes them with a hammer, and shoots them out the side through small holes. It's a quick way to emulsify or blend into a uniform, smooth mass.
Blender bowl if you need to quickly chop herbs, spices, nuts, etc. Works by screwing the motor part onto the bowl.
Whisk It is practical as you can easily whip cream, pancake batter or similar. The whisks can be easily pulled out for easy cleaning.
Hook to hold the wand to the edge of the pot. It can be purchased for Dynamics models with a removable wand and is recommended for the large stick blenders to relieve your wrist. It is included with the Senior models from Dynamic with a removable wand.
Accessories should preferably not be made of plastic. They will not last long with frequent use. In this case, it makes good sense to spend a few extra kroner on something made of steel.
5. If it is to be used in a nursing home/hospital or similar institution Dynamics' "clean up foot" allows you to easily and quickly separate the blade and the wand for thorough cleaning. It is especially intended for hospitals, nursing homes and other institutions with high hygiene requirements.
Tips for using a stick blender
1. Hold the wand at a slight angle when using it. Otherwise, you will create an air hole that will cause unnecessary wear on the machine.
2. Achieve greater freedom with a cordless model. Cooking is about finesse, ease and developing dishes that shine through on the customer's plate. You can enhance the taste experience with a quick blend before serving. Here, our cordless model from Dynamic is an obvious choice. You can take it with you around the kitchen. It comes with a charger and a lithium battery. It can run for 30-45 minutes on a charge and it is an advantage to buy an extra battery so that you can quickly replace it. It is available with either fixed speed, two speeds or variable speed. A cylindrical bowl is a must and in it you can, for example, make mayonnaise. You can even buy a shake stick if you want to make smoothies, cocktails or milkshakes. Hollandaise, vinaigrette and mayonnaise are made in no time with a beater disk. Make smoothies from fresh fruit and skimmed milk with a flat blade from Dynamic.
3. Make spice mix with blender bowl just before use to preserve freshness, coffee beans, chocolate, breadcrumbs, nuts and more.
4. To foam and lighten a sauce so it lasts longer. To add herbs to give it some freshness. If you choose to chop them on a cutting board, the herbs often get stuck everywhere.
5. Blend ingredients directly in your crock pot and other shallow containers with the Dynamic SMX model. It is intended for commercial kitchens. There is a larger model for larger vessels. Here you can purchase a stand that you screw onto the crock pot, so that the stick blender is clamped in place but still has the ability to control it. If you have a cooking vessel, there is a special standing model on wheels called Gigamix.
