Commercial refrigerator for beverages

Industrial refrigerators for bottles and cans are usually what we call display refrigerators because they have a glass door. They are found in shops, restaurants, takeaways, offices and public institutions.
They are available in many sizes - everything from mini display refrigerators to double refrigerators of more than 700 liters.

Commercial refrigerator for food

Industrial refrigerators for food are usually what we call storage refrigerators . They have a solid door that insulates well, and are therefore more energy-friendly than bottle refrigerators. However, you can choose a display refrigerator for food if you want to be able to see what is in the cabinet, but here it is so important that the refrigerator can cool down quickly to low degrees. Never buy a display refrigerator for food that is too cheap!

Refrigerant

There are different types of refrigerant for refrigerators. And although it may seem a bit irrelevant to you as a buyer, it is something you should keep an eye on.
Refrigerants have a negative impact on the environment, and older types can be much more harmful than newer types.
Today, we mostly only carry industrial refrigerators with the types R290 and R600a, which are more environmentally friendly than the old R134a. Unfortunately, it is also more expensive, but that is the price of doing something good for the environment.

Noise

Refrigerators make noise, but there is a big difference in how much. So if you need to use an industrial refrigerator in an office, library or conference room, you should go out and find a refrigerator that makes as little noise as possible.
Unfortunately, you can't rely 100% on the decibel measurements that manufacturers write, because there can be differences in how they test it. But for the most part, you can count on it. Therefore, look for a refrigerator with a maximum decibel of 45.
Refrigerators for private use are around 38 to 40 decibels.
If you open and close a refrigerator a lot during one day, it can make a little noise to get back to temperature, and the same when it raises the temperature when defrosting. It does this as needed. If you fill a new refrigerator with goods before it has had time to cool down, it will also make noise. If it is not level because the floor/table is crooked, it can also give some audible vibrations.

Size/capacity

Consider how big a refrigerator you need.
On many of our display refrigerators we write how many bottles or cans there is room for, but on others we mention the capacity as volume (liters). Often it is not the number of liters that is important, but how the shelves are placed. Some bottles are taller than others.

Exterior dimensions

Remember to measure where the refrigerator will be placed before you order. We write width, depth and height on all products, but if you are in doubt, you can always contact us by phone at 42 61 39 95 or email info@cosina.dk. Of course, you must also make sure that you can get the cabinet in through the door, or alternatively through a window.

Energy consumption

There can be a big difference in energy consumption between two refrigerators, even if they are the same size. Therefore, remember to check how many kW/24 hours the refrigerator uses before you order.
According to the Danish Energy Agency, the electricity consumption of commercial kitchens accounted for 4% of Denmark's total energy consumption in 2010, corresponding to 15% of private electricity consumption. The biggest culprits are refrigerators and freezers, which account for 25% of commercial kitchen consumption.
The calculation for annual electricity consumption looks like this:
Energy consumption per year = (kWh/day x 365) x electricity price
Once you've done the math, you'll find that it's not unusual to save more than 5,000 kroner over the life of your refrigerator. Typically, a refrigerator can last around 10 years.

Location

Before you order your new industrial refrigerator, you need to find a good location. It is important that the cabinet is positioned so that the fan can get rid of the air. Otherwise, it will be put on overtime, which shortens the cabinet's lifespan and increases energy consumption.

Temperature range

It is important that your future refrigerator has a temperature range that ensures proper cooling of the foods you want to keep in the cabinet. Some foods require lower temperatures than others. Fish is best preserved between 0 and +2 degrees, while fresh meat is stored at a maximum of +5 degrees. Therefore, be careful not to buy a bottle refrigerator for food.
Soda, beer, etc. typically need to be stored at slightly higher temperatures, and there are no temperature requirements here.

Climate classes

Unless otherwise stated, the refrigerator is typically tested for Danish conditions with an ambient temperature of 25 degrees and a humidity of 60. If the conditions where the cabinet will be installed are different, you should choose a cabinet with a climate class 4 (30 degrees) or SN (10-32 degrees), N (16-32 degrees) or ST (18-38 degrees). In this case, you should contact your supplier in advance to get the right guidance.

Energy label

There are requirements for energy label signage on industrial refrigerators, but they are not necessarily the same as those made for the private market. Display refrigerators, for example, are marked with the so-called A to G icons , which look a little different. But you should always be able to open the energy label by clicking on the icon, you always have the opportunity to see where on the scale it is located.

FAQs

As industrial refrigerators typically have ventilated cooling, there is always a fan which emits a certain amount of noise. Typically, the noise level is between 34 and 55 decibels. It is important to remember that just 5 extra decibels makes a huge difference. For office use, we recommend our models below 40 dB.

In a cabinet with a ventilated refrigerator, there will always be a fan blowing cold air around the cabinet. This provides a more uniform temperature and cools the goods down to the ideal temperature faster. However, it is necessary not to stuff the cupboard with goods, so that the air cannot circulate around each individual item. Static cooling has no fan, and thus the temperature will not always be the same in different places in the cabinet.

The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration says that you must "[...] divide the steaming hot food into smaller containers, refrigerate the food quickly, avoid overloaded refrigerators and watch that the temperature of the food drops from 65 °C to 10 °C on max. 3 hours."

As much as possible, we carry cabinets with LED lighting, which provides good light and at the same time saves energy. Many display fridges are available with a light top for branding.

Normally we can offer extra shelves. Ask about the specific product by phone 42613995 or email info@cosina.dk.

It is recommended that you clean the condenser once a quarter, or once a month if the cooler is located in an exposed area. This keeps energy consumption down and extends the life of the cabinet.

All prices are exclusive of VAT, but inclusive of WEE charges, which means that the take-back and handling of e-waste has already been paid for.

As standard, the doors of industrial refrigerators are right-hinged and open to the right. On many refrigerators, the door can be reversed. It may be a good idea to reverse the door for reasons of space, or if you have to have two individual cupboards to stand next to each other. You can do it yourself, but it requires two people. That is why many of our customers choose to let us do it. It costs DKK 498 ex VAT per cabinet.

You can have the item brought in and fitted by a professional at an additional cost. Contact us and hear more about the possibility of this.

Why isn't my industrial refrigerator cooling as promised?

If your refrigerator is not cooling well enough, it is either due to a manufacturing defect or inappropriate conditions. Here are four things you can quickly check before contacting us.

  1. Check that the fan is not blocked.
  2. Check that the door closes tightly.
  3. Make sure the refrigerator is completely cooled down before filling it with food.
  4. Check that the ambient temperature is not too high, compared to the climate class of the cabinet.

When you receive your industrial refrigerator

We deliver refrigerators to the curb unless otherwise agreed. Before you sign for delivery, please check that there are no visible marks on the packaging. If there are, you must refuse the delivery and contact us as soon as possible.

When you first use the cabinet, remember to clean the drain and the condenser at the back and make sure there is some air around the cabinet so that it can get rid of the heat. You should do this at least 1-3 times a quarter.
