Water is not just water.

The water that comes out of the tap may be of drinking quality, but the lime content in most areas of the country is so high that restaurants need to treat the water before it is used for, for example, the dishwasher or coffee machine.

Easy to get started

It's quite simple to get started with water treatment, whether you need a filter cartridge for a coffee machine, a decarbonization bottle for an undercounter dishwasher, or a reverse osmosis system where the glass from the dishwasher retains its shine and the need for re-polishing is completely gone. The parts can be purchased individually, but the bottle and the osmosis system can also be rented for a fixed monthly price including insurance.

If you are a barista

Especially for coffee, water quality is a crucial factor, and if you have an espresso machine, you will first remove all taste-disturbing substances with a reverse osmosis system from BWT and then add magnesium with the Best Premium mineral filter, which enhances the taste and clarifies the nuances.

Bestmax water filter

The general rule for Bestmax water filters is that they can last for 12 months. They come in different sizes and can be mounted vertically and horizontally. You find the optimal size by calculating how many liters of water you run through the filter in 12 months. This requires an installation kit with head, hose and Bestflush. It may be a good idea to purchase a BWT Aquameter, which measures how many liters of water have been treated. When the bottle needs to be replaced, you can do it yourself without using tools. Just remember to set the bypass correctly according to the hardness of the water.

The water filters that we sell are available in three versions:

Decarbonization bottles (AK 1030 & 1019)

Generally for partial desalination (ak bottles) they protect the machine from limescale and provide an almost spotless dishwashing. Only glasses need to be polished, plates and crockery will be ready to be put away.

The bottle does not require maintenance and the water quality is better than with a water softener. There is an SMS box on the bottle that notifies BWT when the capacity is exhausted. This will typically happen after 1600 – 2400 washes depending on where in the country you live. BWT will automatically come out and replace the bottle. The bottle can be rented or purchased and there will be an establishment fee and a fee for replacing the bottle. If you enter into a rental agreement, you save 20% on the replacement.

Remember there must be space for the bottle and a power outlet within 1 - 1 1/2 meters of the bottle.

Reverse osmosis system for dishwasher

One of the best solutions on the market is a reverse osmosis system, which works by forcing water through a membrane, leaving only the pure water molecules behind. There is therefore no limescale or salt stains. The dishes are sparkling clean and there is no need to polish the glasses. The consumption of soap and rinse aid is minimal. We market one of the leading models from BWT with minimal water consumption. They are available in different versions depending on how much water is needed per hour.

Get guidance

Hardness can be divided into temporary and permanent. Temporary can be removed with decarbonization (Bestmax) and permanent at 100 degrees (Best Protect or water softener). Since there are large differences in water hardness around the country, we always recommend that you get guidance before making a purchase. For example, an optimal pH value and limescale protection can reduce any corrosion in coffee and espresso machines. This also ensures that you get the right product and the correct dimensioning.
