Case: Peter Beier Chocolate
Peter Beier Chocolate is one of Denmark's best-known chocolate brands. They currently have almost 20 stores in Denmark, several of them with cafés.
In several of their stores there are chocolate bars, where they offer an exciting selection of unique and specially developed chocolate drinks.
In addition, several of the shops also have a large selection of homemade ice cream from their "World of Icecream" concept.
A new business idea
At the end of 2023, Peter Beier got a new business idea to make their cafés even more complete. This was to be in the form of delicious pancakes and waffles, as a supplement to the ice cream and chocolate they are already so well known for.
That is why we have been allowed to deliver complete pancake stations and waffle machines to several Peter Beier stores in 2024. The customers seem to have welcomed the concept very well. But that's almost expected when the product is so complete with raw materials of the highest quality.
Crêpe and waffles - A popular snack
For many years, Cosina has sold pancake machines (or crêpe machines as we call them) and waffle machines to Danish cafes, pancake houses and street food stores. The reason it is so popular is that pancakes and waffles are food that has a high profit margin and at the same time appeals to many people.
You can even vary with both food pancakes and dessert pancakes. You can do it the French (original) way as a galette or the Danish way. Waffles, like dessert pancakes, are a fantastic complement to ice cream, and they can even be pre-baked, so you can dispatch customers quickly, but get a higher average order value.
The equipment
Crêpes and waffles are something you can get started with quite quickly, easily and cheaply. The equipment is simple and does not cost a fortune compared to other types of commercial kitchen equipment. However, we recommend that when you have to make pancakes or waffles in your business, you should buy the equipment in a quality that is made for this intensive use. That is why we do not sell brands other than French Krampouz, which in our opinion is the world leader. We have also chosen to focus on the LUXURY series, which is the only series made for many hours of use day after day.
